Summary
This leaf (plate 16) was taken from Volume I (1896) of the series Les MaƮtres de l'Affiche. The embossed stamp of the series is found in the lower right corner of the lithograph. The original poster was published for Harper's Magazine in 1895 in London by the Artistic Supply Co. Ltd., Amberly House W. C., and printed by Stafford + Co., Netherfield, Nottingham (copyrighted in America). The poster depicts a Beefeater on red ground (left portion of poster), wearing the traditional costume and carrying a staff.
