Summary:
|
Commissioned in 1937 by the Rural Electrification Administration of the U.S. Department of Agriculture to communicate the benefits of electricity to citizens in outlying areas of the country. This is an early example of American graphic design applied to public service, and is one of six posters making up Series One. The poster depicts a large white water faucet on a gold and blue background, with three black arrows entering the faucet, and three black arrows leaving the faucet, simulating water flow. Silkscreen printing technique.
