Summary:
|
Invitation to the First Day of Issue Ceremony Love Stamp.
A special U.S. Postal Service stamp for occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries and weddings as well as those times when special sentiments are being sent to someone special.
Mary Faulconer designed the 20c stamp using flowers of New York City as the elements of the letters of the word "LOVE". She selected each flower on the basis of its color and shape to "give form to the word and convey a sense of meaning, delicacy and strength at the same time".
The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is an art museum in Boston, Massachusetts, which houses significant examples of European, Asian, and American art. Its collection includes paintings, sculpture, tapestries, and decorative arts.
