Title:
Richard Nixon letter to Shirley Church
Summary:
Typed letter on United States Senate Committee on Labor and Public Welfare letterhead dated April 11,1951 as follows:" Dear Miss Church: I want to thank you for your recent letter and for your comments on these critical problems that face our country today. I would like you to know that I am always please to receive letters from school children such as you send, and to learn of their thoughts on the issues which require wise solutions. I believe that your suggestion about telling Russia and other communistic countries about this great America of ours is a very good one, as I feel that we should try to bring the results of a free democracy to the attention of peace loving people everywhere. You may be sure that I will keep your suggestions in mind when I am called to vote on the laws of our country. Sincerely, Richard Nixon." Includes signature and a handwritten Post Script "Your letter was excellent"
