Letter written on Department of Commerce, Office of the Secretary, Washington letterhead. Dated August 27, Addressed to Mr. Grosvenor B. Clarkson, 49 West 58th Street New York City. Containing the following typed content: " My dear Mr. Clarkson: Do not have any hesitation on my account in having a strong go at Mr. Cushing's article. Somebody ought to do it and you are the ideal man. I have not seen anything of late with as many wrong conclusions, misstatements and assumptions of fact as this short document contains. I am writing you a separate letter which may be of some use to you in your reply. Yours faithfully" signed Herbert Hoover. Includes a hand written post script informing Clarkson that he may be receiving a similar letter from someone else as well.
