James Garfield letter to Rose
Summary:
Letter to George Rose stating that he received his letter from the 26th and is expecting the bag in a day or two. Mrs. Garfield is still well and he is resting as well as he can after keeping up his correspondence. He states that his handwriting is a little poorer than usual because of a smashed thumb which gives him much pain. He states that he is glad to hear that the File case is nearly done and asks if Rose is going into the Interim Dept, and if so to please write to him about it and if there is anything he can do for him. He sent his last letter to him at the House of Representatives, he sends this letter to the General P.O. having forgotten his number. Mrs. Garfield senior and junior join him in kind regards to Mrs. Rose and him. Signed "Truly Your Friend, James Garfield".
