Title:
Gerald Ford letter to Frederick Wiedman, Jr.
Summary:
Letter to Frederick Wiedman, Jr. dated November 1, 1994 written on Presidental letterhead containing the following: " Dear Mr. Wiedman: You have written informing me of your deep interest in letters from Presidents of the United States and requesting comments from me on a subject of substance. As you know I am the sole surviving member of the Warren Commission appointed by President Johnson in 1963 to investigate the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Despite the numerous criticisms of the decisions of the Warren Commission, I firmly agree today with the two basic conclusions of the Commission, namely Lee Harvey Oswald was the assassin and the Commission found no evidence of a conspiracy foreign or domestic. The critics, by movies, television, or books, have found no new creditable evidence to undercut the Warren Commission findings, I therefore standby the Warren Commission report as of 1964. Best regards, Gerald R. Ford"
