Broadside printed annually on the Dutch printers festival day, called Koppermaandag, the Monday following the feast of the Epiphany. These broadsides were presented to friends and customers, having been set and printed by the shop apprentices. The poems generally are in praise and honor of Laurens Janszoon Coster (c. 1370, Haarlem – c. 1440), whom the Dutch considered the inventor of printing with moveable types.
