Dickinson Type Foundry was purchased by Sewell Phelps and Michael Dalton after the death of Samuel N. Dickinson in 1848. The business operated under the name of the Dickinson Type Foundry, Phelps & Dalton successors until approximately 1863. This catalog includes: type metal, equipment, cuts, ornaments, and rule; some borders and check tints printed in multiple colors. It includes a small amount of music type and a price list

In original publisher's half calf binding; brown ultra fine bead cloth over boards; front board has "Phelps & Dalton, Dickinson Type Foundry, Boston, Mass." stamped in gold; spine has five registers separated by four raised bands with title, name and location of publishers/owners, and dated of publication stamped in gold; marbled endpapers; all edges trimmed and marbled.
