Summary:
|
"Founder Edward A. Curtis got his start at the Boston Type & Stereotype Foundry before taking a position at the George Holmes foundry. In 1847, Curtis went into partnership with Holmes, operating as Holmes & Curtis until Holmes retired in 1852. Curtis renamed the business E. A. Curtis until 1863, when he took on E. Z. Mitchell as a partner, at which time the company name was changed to Curtis & Mitchell. It was located at 21 Brattle Street around 1875. This catalog includes: type metal, equipment, cuts, ornaments, and rule."
