Bound in green paper over board, with spine covered in tan paper. Housed in a portfolio box of tan cloth over board, with a dark brown spine, and gold stamped lettering on spine: "Whole duty of woman--Rochester 1819."
Dealer's marks handwritten in pencil on fly-leaf: "First book title to be published in Rochester. Only 3 copies known.
Handwritten in ink on blank end page: "Isabella S. Townsend from her Aunt Phoebe A. Chapman."
